The 13th annual Be Your BEST Conference®, hosted by REALiving, is a day designed to educate, inspire, and motivate. This year our theme is “Pause. Breathe. Be Kind.” We invite participants to slow down, reset, and reconnect—with themselves and with others.
Our presenters will thoughtfully weave this theme into their sessions, offering practical tools, meaningful insights, and encouraging perspectives that attendees can immediately apply in their work and personal lives. Join us for a powerful day of learning, reflection, and renewed energy to be your very best.
REALiving® Director Gina Krueger will present the morning welcome as well as closing remarks at the end of the day. Names for prizes will be drawn after our final speaker!

Get ready to dive into the latest trends shaping the workforce, with a particular focus on younger generations like Gen Z and Millennials, including an introduction to Gen Alpha. Participants will explore how these cohorts are redefining work norms, from remote and hybrid expectations to their emphasis on purpose-driven careers and flexible work environments. Leaders will leave this engaging, thought-provoking, and humorous session with actionable insights on what makes younger workers thrive and ideas on how to bridge generational gaps.
Stress, frustration, and small setbacks can quickly shift our mood—but they don’t have to control the rest of the day. In this engaging, hands-on session, discover simple ways to recognize when your mood is slipping and learn quick strategies to reset your mindset. Participants will create a Mood Catcher and a playful Mood Changer filled with prompts to help shift perspective in the moment—leaving with practical tools to use anytime life feels overwhelming.

What you eat does more than impact your physical health. It also influences your mood, energy, and mental clarity. In this session, registered dietitian Lauren Fleck, MS, RD breaks down the science behind the food and mood connection and shares practical ways to support mental wellness through nutrition. Expect approachable tips and realistic strategies you can start using right away to feel more balanced, focused, and energized.

For professionals in public service, health care, and education, the drive to help others often comes at the expense of oneself. You are juggling multiple hats, facing constant demands, and often feeling like you are trying to wrangle a herd of cattle in a thunderstorm. When you are running on empty, it is impossible to "Pause, Breathe, and Be Kind."
In this high-energy closing keynote, Vanessa Zamy—The Business Defibrillator® and Global Workplace Wellbeing Speaker—delivers the practical survival kit for reclaiming your energy. This is not about meditation or yoga; it is a no-nonsense guide to being efficient, effective, and resilient. Attendees will leave with the permission to be their own champion and the specific tools to navigate stress so they can show up as their best selves for their communities.
